Where did my sound go?
[Post New]
I just produced my 1st movie in PD9. I played it after it produced in the production window and it worked perfectly. I saved it as HD .mov format.

I want it saving to my own folders and not in the cyberlink folder, but when I went looking for it after saving it there, it was no where to be found. I found it back in the cyberlink folder/powerdirector9/ folder anyway. That's not where I want to save my videos.

I was able to drag it to the folder, but there's no sound with it. I then tried playing it from the cyberlink folder and there's no sound to it there either. I was able to play in the production window after it was done producing and the sound was perfect.

I tried reproducing the file again, but the same thing happened. No sound if played from it's file location, either original or new.

Does anyone know where the sound went? I'm hoping to be able to upload this video to my website sometime today.

I found my own answer. My movie was opening in Windows Media Player by default rather then Quicktime. I had to reassociate the .mov format to open in Quicktime rather then Media Player. Don't quite know why, but Media player doesn't seem to be able to play the sound to .mov movies I guess. Plays great in Quicktime.

Now just have to figure how to load it up to my website...but thats for later today. Need to get some sleep first (I sleep days...and I'm late getting to bed this morning working on this stuff.

Boy this is a challenge, and addictive!

Your Windows Media Player should play any .mov file no problem. Sounds like your codecs need updating...

But I never use Windows Media Player anyway. I use Media Player Classic Home Cinema (free) It will play anything.
