I recently bought powerDVD10 and inquired about a free upgrade to PDVD 11 and had this reply from CS.

Seems I missed by ONE day (probably a few hours due to time zones) !!!
Why couldn't Cyberlink have informed me when making the purchase that a newer version is about to be released???
Very disappointed with Cyberlink. It seems loyal customers are not valued. Its such a shame as I love their products but will have to think of another product when I update my PC.

Same here but I missed it by about 2 months no idea there was a new version soon to be released but it worked out as I have Nero 10 HD and they just released Nero Kwik Media which is a free upgrade for me even though I bought Nero a long time ago and it plays Blu-Ray just as good as Power DVD. I uninstalled Power DVD and won't give Cyberlink a second look in the future.

Good to hear that. PDVD11 is still buggy, need next patch for more stable version.

My purchase is less than 60 days which should qualify for a free upgrade or at least a discounted price of something like $29.95 but $59.95 for the upgrade? Too steep when I just purchased the upgrade on 2/27/11. I find it absurd that the free upgrade is only within 30 days.

Not sure what the industry standard is for purchasing the most recent version when the next one is to come out soon, but I've seen it as high as 90 days.

I pretty much got the same reply from CS. mobo: ASUS P5-QLE
CPU: Intel Core 2 Quad Q9400
video: Sapphire HD 7750 PCIe 1GB DDR5
OS: Windows 8 Professional 64 bit

Get your wallets out next upgrade will probably be closer to $100.00 for a bloated media player to put this into perspective you can get Windows 7 Ultimate for around $110.00 would you pay $100.00 for Windows media player if it could play Blu-Ray? I'm glad I got screwed on the upgrade I was stuck in that rut of having the latest version and this made me realize how ridiculous the price and upgrade price are. Now using Nero Kwik Media for watching Blu-Ray it was a free upgrade.
