Hi All

I've posted a video on Youtube about a motorcycle racing team.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tfvq4zVnj5w&feature=channel_video_title

It highlights the possibilities of PD8/9 in the use of:

1. Chroma keying the use of a green screen

2. Photos and film 'mixed'

3. An array of sound effects and music overlays

4. The use of different video formats and cameras

Cameras used are:

Sony HDR-TG5E - DVR MD80 mini camera and Canon 500 DSLR

Your comments are welcome.

Hi Neil,

I'm not really in to the motor-racing thing, cars, bikes, go-carts....what have you.
But boy, Neil- your production made me want to see the video to it's end!
So much going on, on different scenes and levels.
Effects put to use "the right way"- keeping me in suspense till the end.
A smooth, elegant production Neil.
Inspiring!

Nina

Just something.

Neil -

I can't heap on more superlatives after that rap from Nina & Cranston... but it is a great piece of work from the point of view of video production technique AND audience engagement.

Well done - & thanks for posting.

Cheers - Tony

Neil,

Great job on the video. The one thing I noticed, was your lack of a good Microphone for your Announcement at the beginning of the video.

From the sound, the mic must have been on the camera and you were in a room with lots of hard surfaces.

Hi Niel,

Very well done. Congratulations. Critical comments would include:

I got no sense of the green screen or croma key use.

Extremely well balanced, but I remained hungry for more on cooperative good sportsmanship between competitors; that these fast guys were not teen agers; and wanted more passing shots of racers. I assumed, from the way it was edited, that you did not have more passing footage, or you would have used it. To me, that implies that if you do have such footage, you should try to fit some in. Perhaps you have footage from other races that you could make-do with?

Use of still and video mix was truly outstanding.

Use of the flash of pavement stripes on curves was also truly outstanding, to provide a sense of speed.

Pre-race tension was very well displayed.

Truly, well done!

Pax

To Cubby

Well done - that was really great.

Can I ask what type of motorcycles were you racing?

Hi BA

The bikes were Suzuki GSX-R1000's.

One was a 'stock' bike and the other a 'race superbike'.

Glad you like it : Happing editing
