Freeze on rendering

Hello,
I have tested for some time the build 2330 and all was ok with several 1920x1080 projects I have tested.

So yesterday I have decided to buy the full version (build 2701).
I've removed the trial ed. then replaced it with the new version, followed by the full content pack.

Now the same projects I have succesfully completed before with the trial ed. are impossible to manage!!!
During the final H.264 rendering the application freeze every time before the 20% of the process, so I must kill it with the task manager

Not a good business. Should i be regretting of this purchase?

I running Windows 7 64bit on Intel i7 processor with 4 GB RAM. Graphic card is an AT Radeon HD 5500.

Thanks in advance for every help.

GoL

Which version did you download? What is the main file name, and content pack name? Your numbers don't sound right. Trying to answer your question with the limited info provided cannot be done.

And before you get all overly excited... I sure we can figure it out. However you need to know the trial version is watered down.

Your CPU and video card can certainly run PD9 but you do need more memory if you are running in 64 bit mode. $ gig is the same as 2 gig in 32 bit mode. That is a concern. Also with PD9 ultra, all your drivers and codecs MUST be and keep current. Also do you have quicktime installed and updated? FFDSHOW?

Go here on the first forum page and give us part A and part B.

By the way, the attached file is my PD9 Ultra install file and patch directory to show you the files that are downloaded.

When you are asked to provide a DXDIAG you go the following link and do part "B". Your posted specs are NOT what we are looking for as they tell us nothing. The specs on the box of your computer mean nothing. The DXDIAG shows us how your computer is configured as it runs.

PowerDirector9Ultra_2701_VDE110120-01.exe
ContentPack_VDE100318-02.exe

then, just yesterday i've downloaded and installed this one:

CyberLink.2702_Patch_VDE110120-07.exe

In my short experience with PD9 the maximum memory usage has been under 3 GB, but is easy to imagine that this is strongly related to the project complexity. I have already planned to increase my RAM to 8 GB. Will be enough for small amateur projects?

Certainly not updated to the latest version. Should I ?

A) PowerDirector Ultra64 9.0.0.2702
B) see attachment

Thank you for help.

George: As Bubba has told you, you are a little shy of RAM for an x64 OS. Six, or preferably eight GB should result in an improvement.

Also, it is essential that your QuickTime be kept up-to-date. PD9 relies on it for processing.

Let us know how you make out. The pros here will get you up and running.

Have a great day.

Was having same issue, decided to do uninstall, re-install, for some reason I got the bright idea to not install the patches and PD burned the DVD with no issues, once I get done with this project I will install patch and see if issue reappears. Will keep you posted. Windows 7 Pro 64
