Hi all,

This driver package supports GeForce 6, 7, 8, 9, 100, 200, 300, 400, and 500-series desktop GPUs as well as ION desktop GPUs version 270.61

Robert and I installed the beta of this with excellent results, for performance and rendering quality. Very happy to say the final result is just as good and is a massive improvement on the last version.

Download available here:

Cheers,

Andrew

Howdie,
I recently installed a driver for the Nvidia GTX580 via Windows Update.
I suspect it's this most recent one, but when I look in Device Manager for the version # it shows:
Driver Version: 8.17.12.6724 and the Driver Date: 2/23/2011. ....
Is this the right one? The best thing about PD is the people in the Forums !!!
Win-7 Ultimate, ASUS Rampage III Extreme, Intel Core i7-980X, 12-GBs DDR3, Intel X25-M 160GB SDD, Asus nVidia GeForce GTX580 (1), Dell U3011 Monitor, Canon HF100 and HF-S21

My beta driver was 26-3-11, so I would say your driver Bob was the one that would leave artefacts when using hardware acceleration in the produce window.

Honestly Bob you are always better off going straight to Nvidia to update drivers Windows can sometimes be months behind. Also with drivers 270 and up you have the option for Nvidia to notify you direct when new drivers are ready.

Just installed the new drivers 270.61 Driver date 7-4-11 (7th April, 2011) My youtube channel====> http://www.youtube.com/user/relate2?feature=mhsn

Oh, My. You are correct. Those were the old drivers that MS had in Windows Update. So, I went to the Nvidia website and downloaded the 270.61 version and installed it. Device Manager now shows: Driver Date: 4/7/2011 Version: 8.17.12.7061
Thanks for pointing that out to me, Sir. The best thing about PD is the people in the Forums !!!

Hi all,

I'm glad we all seem to be getting good results from this new driver! I've actually kept a copy of the installation software on my hard drive, following Robert's example. This is just in case the next version is rubbish and I need to re-install again.

Oe of the many things I have learnt on this forum is that GPU drivers can be a bit hit or miss, and that's for ATi snd NVIDIA.

Cheers,
