I'm using the Cyberlink DVD Maker 2 set with a USB capture device and Power Director 8. I had the same problem with an older computer. I thought it might be due to a slow disk/processor but I just bought a blazing fast new quad core machine with 1Tb of disk and it still only lets me capture half res, (DVD SP).

Has anyone figured out how to successfully capture DVD HQ with this setup??

Albert, Are you trying to put files from a DVD into your computer/Power Director? or, from a DVD camcorder into your computer/Power Director? You should be able to drag and drop the files into a folder on your PC, whether the DVD is in your DVD drive, or your camcorder isconnected by USB or Firewire to your PC.

Albert42696,

I looked for a Cyberlink DVD Maker 2, I do not find that device, are you sure that the device you have is Made by Cyberlink?

I do find a KWorld DVD Maker USB 2.0 VS.

It should work in PowerDirector 8.

You do use the Capture Module in Powerdirector 8. You must set up the capture module for your device.

DVD HQ in the Profile button. (Best Quality)

Click the Settings Button to set the parameters for the capture device. You have to choose the correct input for the video to show in the Capture preview.
