Hi All,

When using the 'Video Enhancement' in the 'Fix/Enhance' tab my renders produce a black image. I can still hear the sound as the video plays but see no picture.

Please note that this only happens if the 'Video Enhancement' tick box is checked. All other renders work fine if its unticked.

I've uninstalled and reinstalled the app and nothings worked.

Hi,
Thank you for the information.

Please can you state what version of PD9 you're using and provide a diagnostic file and a sample of the video - unedited/unchanged and state what camera/source the material has come from (5 to 10 seconds)? See links to guides and information below which will assist you.
Thank you
Dafydd

Oridin,

Before you start doing all that uninstall and reinstall stuff.... give us time to see whats going on. If most things work, just wait a bit.

I tried to replicate your issue. I had no problems rendering a good video. What did you have the video enhanced degree set to? Also did you try it with the supplied nature video? I tried 3 different video clips. If you have a 10 or 20 second sample of one that is causing you the problem could you attach it?

I went back and played with it some more. Here is a clip with the video enhancement at 90 percent which actually makes the video look crappy.

Hi again,

Thanks for the replies. I reformatted my computer last night and installed Windows 7 64bit. This has fixed the problem.

Bit more info regarding the issue incase others come across it?

I was using windows 7 32bit OS with Power Director 9 64bit << not sure of version number??
During the install i had some issues - i think it was because i had installed the trial version then paid for it fully and installed the new version stratight away << not restarting my computer
My video was filmed with a GoPro HD which was set at 1080 <<< NTSC
I could render and produce the video with out any other dramas as long as the 'Video Enhancement' checkbox was unticked

1 last thing .. i was able to produce one video with the output set to 720p setting (not the 1080p default) << I probably could have been happy with that but decided i would just start fresh (I had only just reformatted anyway)

Hope this helps anyone down the track.

Thanks

He didn't - it's just the naming of the program, my guess.

Hi!

I have the same problem: PDirector renders black (missing) video, sound is ok. This does not happen with the supplied nature.mpg. The video enchancement is Fix/enchance//Enchance//Color adjustment//Brightness//-25 (same happens with +11, or even if 0, ie. only 'Color adjustment' checked). Same happens with Enchance//Video enchancement, but is ok with 'White balance' adjustment. If I select 'compare video qualities in split window' then the pre-render looks ok, but after 'producing', the video is blank. File size shows there is no video iincluded (5 seconds 286kb for black vs. 3802kb for ok non-enchanced video).

Input file is from Sony A77 camera, H.264 AVC, 21.70 MBPS, frame rate 25, 16:9, Profile: high profile.

Bad output attached.

Any help welcome.

Kaido
