It seems that there is a trend towards 1080p/60fps video as being the new standard
Has any PD user been able to confirm that PD9 can handle these videos??
Thanks for your help

I have a PC with an I7/920 processor using Windows 7

I use it and so do others here.

You also have to consider the bit rate.

My 1080p 59.94 fps captures at 24mbps it's an mp4 file - others have 50fps and 59.94 from mts format.

Upload a diagnostic file and editors here can comment on whether you're system will function with the HD you proposed. Guide info below.

Please look up the Read me file in PD9 or check out: http://forum.cyberlink.com/forum/posts/downloadAttach/4356.page

Hope that helps.

Thanks
Dafydd

Dafydd-Thanks for your quick reply!

The camera's specs indicate (Sony Hxv9) it records at 28 Mbps using AVC HD or MPEG-4 AVC H.264 compression.

I have downloaded an uncompressed video file made by the digicam which is 728mb and 3min 50secs long.

Its file properties indicate it to be an AVCHD video (.MTS) file recorded by the camera at a 26549kbps. Thanks for your help.

As Dafydd requested.........Upload a diagnostic file and editors here can comment on whether you're system will function with the HD you proposed.

Part B is how to supply a dxdiag file.

Hi Jim,

Thanks for the dxdiag file. i noticed that your video drivers are 2 years old. video drivers are very important in video editing. The trick is to update them from the card manufacturers website not from windows or computer manufacturers website, that way you will get the latest drivers.

Your graphics card also may be a bit underpowreed. This link shows it as a $50 graphics card. Know that editing video on your computer is one of the hardest things your computer will do.

Lastly you don't state whether or not you are using PD or just asking about it. If you are just asking there is a trial version you can download to see if your computer will handle your 60p videos. My youtube channel====> http://www.youtube.com/user/relate2?feature=mhsn

Robert,
thanks much for your input!
I am looking to buy it, I'm an old Studio 11 user. Pinnacle has not kept up to advancing technology,
I will update my drivers and download the trial as you suggested.
Thanks again
Jim
