Hi,

I am interested in how much Free music clips come with the paid version of P9, and also how much the Smart Sound clips cost.

I am also wondering how much more features are accessible in the paid version verses the Trial

Thank you

Features should be basically the same. Smart Sound has a handful of free music. A quick look there seems to be about 3 dozen free songs, with several variations of most. Costs vary by quality from around $8 to $15 or so, as I recall. __________________________________

Hi Pam1943,

There are some (not many), limitations in the trial version. Here is the official list.

Hi Pam -

The SmartSound site has various "offers" that have an impact on pricing, such as bulk purchases... http://www.smartsound.com/

Apart from regular pricing they have occasional specials that are worth the wait if SS music suits your purposes... http://www.smartsound.com/sonicfire/music.html

Cheers - Tony

Thank you for all the informative responses. I really appreciate it. So, I gather that Smart Sound provides both any FREE and PAID music files and none come with the program? Hummm, guess I will need to go find some free ones on line.

Will definitely be purchasing this before the trial is up. Much better than Corel ! Could not even see the total black screen and gray print on the Corel one and I did not find it as user friendly as this. I think the learning curve in the Corel is way too much for a newbie to movie editing.

This is my first attempt with P9 and I am pretty satisfied for a first try.

Sorry, yes there is a limited number of templates, etc. That comes with the content package after purchase. I forgot about the watermark. I guess it's been about 8 years or more since I used the trial version. __________________________________

Pam -

About 20 tracks are supplied with the software (from memory). I'm not sure whether they're part of the trial (never had one).

When you click on Magic Music & go into the SmartSound module, you'll see some tracks marked in bold. They're the supplied tracks. The others are available for purchase.

Cheers - Tony

I believe you get 128 MB of SS sounds as what was just updated on my re-installation yesterday.

I would be very articulate of what SS tracks you buy and sample them all. And make sure you can use what you buy as it gets very expensive buying tracks you have no use for.

Once you get the right tracks, you can make one heck of an enchanted sounding video.

I had better luck getting SS to work by installing PD9 after all my SS tracks where loaded and Sonicfire in place.

Do not use the SS Quicktracks plugin if using PD9; as the plugin is for PD8 and earlier.

The Smartsound plugin for PD5 through 8 is 3090.
The plugin for PD9 is 5180, the only difference being that in 9, the newer module can access a wider variety of music from Smartsound.
I must add that the module in PD9 has a few wrinkles to iron out, even after a number of patches it has not been addressed.

Thank you all

So far I am having no issues with P9, but I am in the Trial right now too, so we shall see what happens with the *real thing, later this week or so.

I did notice a *hanging a few times when I was working with the FREE music files. When it asked me during the Trial install about whether I wanted it to install Smart Sound, I said yes, not knowing exactly what it was at the time.

So since it was happening while I was trying to add sound to my movies, I am thinking it might be the Smart Sound issue a couple of you mentioned? Or are you speaking of different plug-in with regards Smart Sound?

As for buying music, lol, it would have to be pretty cheap for me to spend money on what can get free somewhere or cheaper elsewhere . <G> I heard a few I might be interested in though.

Hello everyone,

I have been running the trial version of PD9 for a couple of weeks now and am finding it very good. I want to make a decision soon but I'd like to test the audio editor. Is WaveEditor included in the trial version of PD 9? It shows a bold "Edit with WaveEditor" option if I right click a sound clip but an error message states it cannot be started and that I should re-install Wave Editor. I cannot find it by opening the download file with 7zip as advised in another post. Help would be much appreciated.

Thanks

Bob

Just a guess, but you probably have to reinstall PD if WaveEditor didn't install correctly. I don't remember it being a separate install. __________________________________
