Showing scores in a basketball game

I'm making a video of my son's basketball game in the local rec league finals. I'd like to have an opaque box in the top of the video showing the running score of the game. Can anyone suggest the best/easiest way to do this in PD?

I did something similar. I made a transparent png in PhotoShop. I made a base copy. Then added the data for each time it changed, in my case laps of a race. You can also change the score using a title over the base image. __________________________________

I don't want to put words in Jaime-esque's mouth, but I think he meant to add that you would put the PNGs in a separate (higher-numbered) track. Jerry Schwartz

Wow, a floating scoreboard sounds like a cool idea; just like the networks!

Please post a link to your video when it is complete.

I usually just take a shot of the scoreboard between periods.
