I dont do much mpeg2 work, but now I am trying.
When ever I try to produce a mpeg2 file I get a dialog box that pops up and says:

You must first activate this feature before using it. Connect to the internet
and then try again. Activation is free and quick process.

Mpeg2 component activation

The codec trial has expired Please connec to the internet to active now.

So I click the activate button

and get:

Codec activation incomplete. This may be becuase the internet connection was disconnected
(it was not) or the program activation key is invalid or reached its limit.

Does anyone know how to solve this?

Mike,
What build are you using?

What build did you patch from (state original build and patches applied please)?

Dafydd

I also get this notification. I just click activate and it works. It does have me concerned that it will fail and why does it do that at all?

I used the trial version of PD Ultra 64 then purchased the full version in December. I haven't installed any patches but I do have auto-update activated.

PD9 Ultra64 Build 2330a.

Can someone take this opportunity to provide a little guidance on builds? Why is the build so important and shouldn't everyone have the latest build?

The fist full install was
PDR9_Ultra64_2330_VDE101118-03.exe
After deleting previous betaIII code I cleaned the registry with Norton utilities, then installed this.

This install had the activation error as well.

I was hoping it would go away with the first update,
CyberLink.2504_patch_VDE101208-05.exe, but still have the issue.
