Hi Members,
Below are Cleaner utility programs developed by CyberLink to assist editors who have run into installation issues. You will see that both version 1 & 2 are available to be used. Version 2 should be your option, the earlier version is a "just in case" anyone wants it to try out.

1. CLCleaner2-PowerDirector_7.0-9.0.rar
Updated version, the installation instructions remain the same.

Older version
CLCleaner-PDR7.0-9.zip
This is designed to "fool" your PC and allow an overwrite of PD without needing to uninstall. Suitable for versions PD7/8/9.

Using a zipping software unpack the contents.
Select and double click on the CLCleaner-PDR7.0-9.exe
There will be a popup when completed - it is fast.
Here you can re-install PD but if you have a SmartSound installation issue please read the second part.
Remember this is a "fool" the computer and doesn't actually uninstall anything.

2. CLCleaner-PDR9SmartSound.rar
This is designed to overcome the 95% stalling which happens when the contents pack freezes. To make this work you need to run the above first and then the CLCleaner-PDR9SmartSound.exe.
Apply CLCleaner-PDR7.0-9.exe and then apply CLCleaner-PDR9SmartSound.exe

Using a zipping (or winRAR) software unpack the contents.
Select and double click on the CLCleaner-PDR9SmartSound.exe
There will be a popup when completed - it is fast.

Now re-install PD and the Content pack.

Both these utilities were created by CyberLink R&D and I have used both and they worked for me.
