You hit the nail on the head Dickflyfisherman , you want to edit HD video you need the horsepower to do it otherwise you are in for a world of hurt.

I bashed my head against a brick wall with PD6 trying to produce a special effect that was too much for my set-up to handle.

I now have an i7 cpu 6 gig of ram on 64 bit Win7 and it runs as smooth as butter.
