AVCHD "Burn to folder" grayed-out if removable disk is selected
[Post New]
What I want to do is burn the files to a folder in AVCHD format. I get the option to "burn to folder" if I choose a disk size (like 8.5), but the files are 23GIG, so this fails with the attached error. If I try to select "removable disk" then "burn to folder" is grayed out???

Not sure I understand the issue. PD will create a folder structure PRIVATE > AVCHD > BDMV >....on the removable flash, that's all it can do so things are grey.

Ok, I understand now, also.

EDIT: And another good point made in the Below reply...not gonna happen with large files!!

Keep in mind, most SDHC cards are formated in FAT32, to my knowledge, PD does not split clips making them compatible with the flash media. If formated FAT32 PD will crash at ~4GB.

Fred, I noticed your added EDIT. I'm sure you are aware that you can format your SDHC to NTFS file system and create your large file on the removable card if you wish. Not knowing how you plan on using it, that may suite your needs. Devices like the PS3 don't recognize USB devices with NTFS file system, only FAT32 so you obviously can't plug and play there, however, other media players do recognize NTFS USB devices.

To me it would be nice if PD would recognize the removable media file system and appropriately split the mts files it writes there. No reason I see that they can't do this, or at least take the camera system easy way out and just split them at ~2GB the lowest common FAT.
