The Cap'n has a video of my day yesterday

I don't usually post my stuff. But this was produced with Power Director 9 Build 2405 and produced using the YouTube uploading feature and I selected the Full HD 1920x1080 profile.

The East coast got quite a dumping of snow and heavy winds yesterday. In between boats I answered some Forum questions, then it was back to the ferry for another run. This will give you an idea of what I do for work. I leave one Island(Chebeague Island) and then drive the ferry 1 1/2 miles to another Island(Cousins Island - connected to the mainland by bridge) and make about 7 runs a day in a 12 hour shift.

The ferry is the only way to get home except for swimming of course. And about 50 people (students and working folks) commute off the Island every day first thing in the morning. We have about 300 people that live on the Island year round. So the people on the Island really depend on the ferry to get back and forth.

Let me know what you think. I thought it was about time to share some video in the forum to demonstrate a PD9 project.

Sorry, just a thought. Does anyone else find that watching a HD movie on YouTube, that it seems that there is not enough bandwidth to see the clip in 1920x1080. Times is that is OK, but noy always as it stops in the middle trying to catch up.
Have you tried Vimeo web site for videos? Windows 8 Pro 64bit

Kevin,

The video is so so. The weather was fantastic ! I'm kidding of course - they're both good.

I've been in your neck of the woods. Acadia Park being the destination and a beautiful one at that. Loved the lobster too. Ironically, I had to go 20 miles inland to get the best one served. Enjoy our challenging winter. It's been different. Win 10, i7

Nice video Kevin, I enjoyed watching it as I sit here in the heat in my shorts and no shirt.

twincitybulldog, something I have noticed with youtube is it seems to depend on who made the video, a professional company or one of us.

Professional sites like Engaget seem to show youtube videos much faster than say my normal hang gliding videos.

Also when watching 1080 video, even though I am on cable I usually have to wait till most of the video has downloaded before I start watching.

Regarding vimeo and youtube I prefer the ability in youtube to move to any point in the video without having to wait for the entire video to download. Some of the videos I watch can be boring and I like being able to move to half way through or the end of the video. My youtube channel====> http://www.youtube.com/user/relate2?feature=mhsn

I enjoyed the video, nicely done - excellent window washer, certainly uses a lot of water though ;

One addition could improve it though, where are the islands? A zoom in on a map would clear that up.

Nice video, what was the music? I would have liked to have heard more of the sea effects though.

Re watching HD movies on Youtube, I always stop the video and let it download to halfway before running it. That normally solves the problem of the download speed.

Great video Kevin - you are a real person after all! : That looked mighty cold brrrr.

What music was playing in the first half?

Twincitybulldog, when watching full HD in Youtube pause the video for a couple of minutes to enable the buffer overrun to pass. It then plays flawlessly.
