Burning DVD

Hi ,
Have been having issues lately with burning DVD's for use in DVD players - not PC. After burning and verifying I play the DVD in either a DVD player or the PC and seem to have no issue. Then I apply a label (DVD Stomper) to jazz it up a little before giving it to friends, family etc. The DVD seems to work OK for them for a while but sometimes just locks up and won't play - very embarassing?
Have tried different brand DVD's (always DVD-R as I'm told these are compatible with more players than DVD+R) same issues. Anyone have these problems - I'm thinking it might be the labels unbalancing the DVD?

Might DVD+R be better?

Have also tried different DVD burning software than other PD (eg IMGBurn) same issues.

Perhaps time for a new burner...but looks like you are about to build yourself a new machine anyway. Panasonic SD9, Panasonic TM700, Panasonic SD600, GoPro HD Hero.

The DVD Stomper known to cause some running issues. Basically the disk spins in a high speed and depends on the quality of the label it might come off the disk and causes problem or the disk becomes un balanced as a result.

Best to have ink-jet printable disks (or lightscribe for lesser label quality - I don't recommend it )

As far as the disk type/brand is concerned, I always find the Verbatim DVD-R to be reliable.
