In regard to your issue, we regret to say that you cannot open project created suing older version of PowerDirector in the newer version and this is the reason why the program always crashes when you try to import your old projects created using the older version of PowerDirector i.e is Deluxe.

The projects you have created using the older version might inlcude some transitions or effects or other features which might not be available in the newer version of PowerDirector i.e is Premium and therefore the project is making the software crash.

We regret the inconvienence you have encountered so far.

Isaacs,

This isn't unusual for a software where a major upgrade has taken place. Video editing software for saved projects can not always be backwards compatible. Heck the answer given by CL tech makes senses.

Just listen to a Johnny Cash song about smuggling out a car a bit at a time..... the bits wont fit!!!
