Maybe at last by now I turn out as the most incompetent user of PD9, but...
Having managed initial problems I'm now going to re-work my already (nearly) finished PDS's with PD9, obviously being the more powerful and flexible version of PD.
But that flexibility turns out problematic - for me - in some cases:
Assume the following situation:
A project, video (and sound) track #1 are finished and continuously filled (no gaps).
There are some objects in the (former PiP, now) track #2, meticulously placed at the respective timecode.
And there are music pieces and spoken commentary in the respective tracks.
Now for the 'problem' (as fas as it is one):
#1 - Inserting an object to track #2 via CTRL-C and CTRL-V (duplicate a clip, e.g. a piece of background sound to cover noise in the original track): Is this possible, without moving all other objects right of the insertion position further to the right? (I already learned to turn off "link all tracks", as otherwise my track #1 clip would be axed into 2 portions, inserting a gap (which is removable, and the torn clip may be 'mended').
#2 - vice versa: Removing parts of a clip: is it possible without dragging all objects right of the deletion position further to the left?
Thanks in advance for any hint
Michael.
