Several months ago, Cranston made us well aware of the flickering route
a pip would perform in Modefy. Cranston made good examples showing the
behaviour of an object/picture in the modify-window.
I think this was reported to CL.
Well, the other day I made a little, short video where I in the end had a
photo coming towards the screen. A straight, not very long, route.
To my disappointment, and frankly surprise, the picture seems to
flicker more than ever. This is not good!

I attach some seconds, reduced speed.

“This is not good!”

I agree Nina.
The jerky stuttering motion has been brought up several times, and was reported early in PD8. And now, in PD9, if anything, it’s gotten worse.
Magic Motion (for still images), and Video Crop (for video), works smoothly. So why can’t CL get PIP Motion to work smoothly too?
It’s very disappointing that CL still hasn’t addressed this, as they knew back in PD8 it was... “not good”.

I know some folks use PD as business opportunity to make videos for clients. But I don’t know how this is possible, as I can’t imagine a client would buy a production where graphics and their logos stutter, jump, and jerk across the screen.

Attached are parts of some of the slo-mo and close up test examples (that were submitted to Cyberlink long ago), demonstrating that when utilizing the PIP Motion, the media jumps and also actually changes sizes back an forth on the frame by frame level.

Just another comment;

Over time we develop our (individual) workflow.
When programs change, we change with it- or leave,
both valid approaches ...
When blowing the horn loud about 100 tracks - it strikes
me that this is an invitation to enable using PIPs extensivly, or at least explore the possibilities of PIPs.
With this kind of flicker/jerkiness -
I believe the balloon of 100 tracks looses a lot of air...
