Is there any way to change the behavior of an image that you import into a title? So far as I can tell, they will always fade in and fade out. You can change the beginning and ending keyframes to modify the duration of the fade, but that seems to be it.

The effect I want is to have multiple images "pop" into existence at different times. Jerry Schwartz

As far as I can tell you can't change the behavior of the image that you import into the title...it fades unless you move the keyframe to the very start and end of the duration.

Is there a reason why you don't place the images on seperate video tracks so that you can control the timing of when they appear? I just thought I would ask the question in case I am missing something from what you are attempting to create. You have all those video tracks available and you could place an image on each track and have complete control over each image.

Regards,

Kevin

1) But I wanna, I wanna, I wanna!!!

2) I was trying to create a title template that I could re-use easily.

3) I would need a dozen or so tracks for this little thing, and the only way I can think of to make it re-usable would be to build the thing and produce it as a standalone clip. I would think a title template would be the proper solution, but I guess title templates are for sissies.

I've attached my effort. It doesn't look the way I wanted, because the candles all start fading in at the beginning. I wanted them to appear one or two at a time, and I need them to get out of the way quickly so the text will show better.

Hi Jerry,

I understand now why you wanted to create the Title Template....so that you can reuse it when you needed it for the next Birthday!!

But you mentioned the only other solution that I could think of as well....produce it to a video file for safe keeping.

Personally I have never imported a picture into a Title Template....so that was a new exploration for me. So don't rely on my answer as being CORRECT!! hahahaha! Someone may have the answer....so don't give up hope!

This is why I enjoy participating in the forum....some of the questions....such as your....require some exploration into areas not previously used.....Power director then becomes much more familiar....and sometimes frustrating at the same time!!

Jerry,
Why not design a template and post it on the download template page for the rest of us sissies.

Hi Jerry,
I've just tried what I thought, could become a solution, but there is an odd thing:
When adding a TEXT object to a title, you may edit starting and ending effects and their respective duration.
But when adding an IMAGE object, there is no such option.
No way.
I'm afraid, the only thing to achieve your goal is to create PiP objects from your candle.
Though this is a bit more complicated, defining the starting and ending of each candle, but there popping up is possible.
Only you will need an additional video track for each candle to be able to set the correct timing of each candle.
But PD9 is said to support up to 99 video tracks.
Hopefully you won't need more candles

Michael.

Actually, I did post this template. I'm not happy with it, for the reasons discussed in this thread, but I figured I'd share my efforts.
