You can change the name of the snapshot file, but I don't see any way to change the destination folder.

Did I miss something? Jerry Schwartz

It saves a copy in the current "Export folder" settings in the preferences. (Alt C > File tab)

It auto saves to the whichever export folder is set in Preferences>File. I think that's the only place to alter it.

Cheers

Life is really simple, but we insist on making it complicated. (see below)

That's not what I see. It always saves it to my Documents folder. Jerry Schwartz

I apologize, you appear to be correct. The snapshots I was looking at had all been created while I was running PD8, and who knows what setting was in force then.

It is obnoxious that you can't change the destination folder on the fly.

Early on PD8 had a very strange arrangement with photos that bite me a time or two. If you fix /enhance a photo it places that photo in C:\Documents and Settings\YOU\Application Data\CyberLink\PowerDirector\8.0\photoTmp and really used it in the timeline. The raw pds file if viewed would show "C:\Documents and Settings\YOU\Application Data\CyberLink\PowerDirector\8.0\photoTmp\2010-12-11-15-46-20_Fix.JPG"/ in it. I think if PD8 was set to auto delete temp files and you tried to reload a project latter it wouldn't find those photo's and ask you to locate and if not you would get the common black spot in the timeline. I had several PD8 pds files that don't work correctly now because of that even though I moved none of my source photos that I thought were being used.

Maybe the above scenario is what you are referring too on why you had pics in Docs and Settings.
