Hi,
I have a Samsung SD Memory camcorder (standard definition), according to the specs, the video size is 1690X960 what ratio should I create productions to keep a hi quality 16:9 or neither 4:3 16:9 tab.
Also in creating background and title background what is the dimensions 1920x1080 or the 1440x1080?

Hi James1,

1690 multiplied by 0.5625 (a 16:9 aspect ratio), equals 960.6.
So your 1690x960 clip, is a true 16:9 clip.

Which means a 1920x1080 (or 1280x720), background would probably suit best.

I hate to correct your math but 1690 times .5625 = 950.625

1690 x 960 is close to 16:9, but not exact. 960 divide by 1690 = 0.568047337.

It should work in a 16:9 ratio OK but it is not an exact fit.

James1, try the 1920x1080 backgrounds and titles, ought to fit well enough.

I think when the files are rendered, they will become true 16:9 video. Carl312: Windows 10 64-bit 8 GB RAM,AMD Phenom II X4 965 3.4 GHz,ATI Radeon HD 5770 1GB,240GB SSD,two 1TB HDs.

You could do what I do with my 1280X960 flying videos.

1. Choose 16:9 for your project.
2. With the video on the timeline right click choose aspect ratio then choose "Neither 16:9 or 4:3" then choose "Stretch clip to 16:9 aspect ratio."

My videos are 4:3 and stretch nicely to 16:9, showing some distortion but as yours are virtually 16:9 to start with it should work well.

Cheers

This article has a good stab at explaining dpi and ppi from a video perspective.
