PD9 Trial & Latest ATI Drivers problem

Has anyone experienced a problem where PD9 trial closes in the import media screen after installing the latest ATI drivers?

I had the trial working very well. This morning I updated the video drivers and the AVIVO package. Right after I attempted to import some SD files to test the upscaling feature.

Program launched as per usual. Clicked on the import media folder, navigated to and opened the desired folder. As soon as I clicked on a .mod file to import PD9 closed. No error or message.

I was able to import the complete folder under the import folder option, then import individual files. I was also able to open a previous project and import files to the project. I tried this several times, reboot and tried with the same result.

I rolled back my video drivers to the previous version and this seemed to resolve the problem. I can now import the files individually.

PD9 ver: 9.0.0.2316

Hal,

Did you try reinstalling the 10-11 drivers to see if you got the same problem twice? Just curious...I have the 10-10 and was reluctant to install the 10-11!! hahahaha!! You scared me into waiting!

Regards,
Kevin

Kevin,

I thought about that but figured I would ask the question first.

I really can't see how the video driver would have that effect, but rolling back seems to have fixed the problem.

I will be reinstalling the updated drivers to test. I did not remove the Catalyst or the AVIVO, only rolled back the driver. I don't seem to have the 10-10 drivers for some reason. Guess I forgot to get them. Suffering from TMB or something like that.

Haven't had much of a chance to test PD9 yet, but am looking forward to it. One thing that seems to be fixed is the annoying green line that I and some others were getting on some clips. (Panasonic .mts files)

Will keep you up to date.

Hi,

I installed the 64bit 10-11 ATI drivers and my system did things I have never seen before.
While editing in PD9 the screen would flash and then turn to a complete WHITE screen for
a few seconds and then up popped:- "Your graphics card has stopped responding."
An esc. key brings it back but PD9 is now shutdown.

Reverted back to 10-10 and more conventional problems........

Kevin,

I haven't had a chance to reinstall yet. Been trying to get a virus off a friends computer the last couple of days.

I do intend to reinstall the 10-11 drivers and test again. Not sure if the problem was with the drivers or the JVC .mod files. I will find the problem, I am sure.

Hi Neil,

I think that both cards have identical specifications, so this may have confused 10.11
