Before I upgrade to V7, does anyone know if there is a way to activate the product other than via the internet, ie over the phone. The reason being that I will be installing the product on a secure system which has no external web access.

no - activation needs online connection.

I have a similar situation. So you are saying that you absolutely have to be attached to the internet to activate this software? It would have been nice to know that before I spent so much time evaluating this for some stand alone pc's. Does internet access appear anywhere in the list of requirements at:
