What are the Different Ways to Save for the Internet?
[Post New]
I've been using Facebook and YouTube because it compresses your video, as well as uploads it into the internet, but if your video is over 20 minutes, you cannot use either of them. What I would like to do is compress one of my videos, but it's over 20 minutes long and neither of those allow a video over 20 minutes.

I went to search threw the file types, but am sort of lost. I would like my video to stay a nice size and be sharp, but when I look threw the different file types, they all estimate that the video will be over 1GB. Is there a way to save the video compressed, sort of like a zip, and ready for the internet without it being so large?

Is there a way to save the video like Facebook or YouTube saves it? Whenever I save and upload a video for either of them, I also save a copy of it in my computer. Is there a way to do that without uploading it to Facebook/YouTube?

Do I have any other options if I can't? Otherwise, I might have to have the video in segments/chapters and upload them individually.

Thanks,
Sean -

Hi Sean -

The YouTube & Facebook profiles used for direct upload from PD are just WMV 9 profiles. To use the same profile to keep on your PC, just go to Produce > WMV > then choose a profile.

The HD profiles for YouTube & FaceBook are WMV9 HD Standard 1280x720.

If you have a 20 minute video to upload somewhere, one of the best formats is a lower resolution WMV - even then, the file sizes would probably be bigger than you want... it's 20 minutes long!

As an example, here are the results for a 2 minute video
1. WMV9 464X320 @ 400Kbps - file size = 4.29MB
2. WMV9 640X360 @ 600Kbps - file size = 6.43MB
3. WMV9 960X540 @ 2000Kbps (2MBps) - file size = 13.2MB
4. WMV9 1280x720 @ 6000Kbps (6MBps) - file size = 29.3MB
5. WMV9 1920x1080 @ 8000Kbps (8MBps) - file size = 39.05MB

Cheers - Tony
