PD freezes momentarly while scrolling the timeline

Hi,

I'm new to PD and this forum.

I import from a HDV Sony camcorder. While in edit mode, whenever I scroll in the timeline, PD freezes for some time ( say 10 to 20 seconds ) and then recuperates only to REfreeze if I keep scrolling

PD is 8.00.3022

I hate to say this but more information may be required to sort this issue out.

I have encontered the same effect a couple of times, but only with very long video clips. These clips were imported from previoulsy burned projects. (.vob files)

My solution/workaround was to split the clip(s) into 10 - 15 minute sections. (at appropriate places to avoid losing the intent of the clips).

Not really a solution but it worked for me.

The specs of your system and the clip(s) involved will help determine what the exact problem might be.

PD needs time to process file links. This happens when your timeline is loaded with many clips.
Try this
Save the project
Open it again and see if problem is lessened PC specs :
