Hi Everybody,
New dude here!
I'm familiar with blending videos using other products, but have recently purchased Cyberlink and can't seem to find this option on the editing section or an answer in the forums.
I want to overlay one video on top of another, but have both videos still be visible. Is this possible? I see the PIP option, but how do you adjust the transparency, so that you see the 2 together?
Thanks in advance for any help. And a free box of my Weird Aunt Minerva's cookies to the first answer that helps me achieve this effect.

Kevin
p.s. I have some youtube videos posted with this effect that I made using brand X if you need to see exactly what I'm speaking of. Saving the world, one goofy video and meme at a time.

Cookies! Ya got me!

Kevin -

All you need to do is
1. Insert Video A into the main video track (or a PiP track for that matter - it makes little difference)
2. Insert Video B into the track "below" it (on the timeline, that is)
3. Select Video B > Modify... go to PiP Designer
4. Click on Motion Paths tab & adjust transparency

Setting consistent transparency level throughout clip is probably what you want, but keyframes can be used to vary this

Cheers - Tony

Thank you Tony, I am headed to try that now. Thank you very much for the speedy reply, and I'll let you know if this is what I was looking for. I'll call my weird aunt and have her pre-heat the oven. Saving the world, one goofy video and meme at a time.

That was exactly it Tony! Thank you very, very much. I have moderate skills with other brands, but I can tell Cyberlink Power Director is exactly the software I was looking for in just this first hour or two I've had it home.

So do you want chicken gizzard macaroons, or oatmeal and porkleberry surprise?

I want to place a COOKIE order!!

You have a great attitude in the way you ask questions that just beg to be answered. It brought a grin to my face. Video editing is supposed to be fun! We all have stumbling blocks at times and frustration banging in our heads!!....but it can still be fun figuring out the solution.

I just wanted to say you have a great approach. Personally I think I am more partial to Chicken Gizzard Macaroons!

Regards,

Kevin

Thanks Kevin,
With a name like that, you gotta be a cool person. I've helped many folks figure things out with other brands, and know the frustration it can cause along with the bald spots caused from pulling out your hair, because the so called support is non-existent. I'm glad to be part of the community here and look forward to many happy times using Cyberlinks products.
And if I can help someone else, I'll do so quickly and willingly.
I'll send Aunt Minerva out to go chase down some chickens for your cookies right now.

Happy Clippings!
