I'm purchasing a new computer, and am also purchasing some video editing software. I've read a lot of great reviews about PD6, so I'm going to get it. But, first, I want to make sure the computer I'm getting will be able to support it. I'm getting a Dell E521 with AMD Athlon 64 X2 4000+, 2 GB DDR2 Memory, 320 GB Hard Drive and Windows XP (I've heard of too many problems with Vista). I'll probably be purchasing some type of external hard drive in the near future to hold most of my video files. Not being very computer savvy, does this sound like a good system for Power Director 6? Thanks in advance. I look forward to posting on these forums as I purchase PD very soon.

Looks like the answer is yet...quite the machine you'll be running. Below are the System Requirements from the PowerDirector help:

System Requirements
The system requirements listed below are recommended as minimums
for general digital video production work.
Screen Resolution:
• 1024 x 768, 16-bit color or higher
OS:
• Windows Vista/XP/2000 (Windows XP Service Pack 2 is required
for HDV capture)
Memory:
• 256 MB required (512+ MB DDR recommended)
• 1 GB DDR2 Ram recommended for HD content editing
CPU:
• Capture/produce AVI: Pentium 2-450 MHz or AMD Athlon 500
MHz
