Can't submit support ticket -- Can't import MPEG-2 files

This website is hard to figure out. Can't seem to find any way to submit a support ticket -- only view past tickets.

Anyways, I just bought the Media Suite 8 because the video editing component (PowerDirector) is supposed to be the most feature-rich editor in it's class.

Imagine my surprise when I try to import my camcorder MPEG-2 files and it says the audio format isn't supported!

If I can't import my camcorder files, then the video editing is useless to me.

How can I make this work?

I'm using Windows 7 (64-bit), and Win Media Player plays the files just fine, so the codec is installed on my system.

Oh, by the way, the install process hung when installing a driver. Not sure which one -- after 20+ minutes of watching the dialog box saying it was installing PowerDirector (and nothing actually happening), I went into the task manager and killed the "installing driver" task. Surprisingly, the install process continued after that.

Oh, I guess I should add that while I have purchased Media Suite 8, I'm currently testing the trial version before opening the package in case I need to return it.

Hi Alan,
Customer Support will deal with refund or return issues you have: https://membership.cyberlink.com/prog/support/cs/index.do

The version you've purchased of PD8, within MediaSuite has limitations, it is NOT the full version. Reading the audio file (Dolby Digital) is one of the limitations. You need to use/buy the full versions of PD8 (Ultra or Deluxe.).

Check the version differences here: http://forum.cyberlink.com/forum/posts/list/9621.page#43679

Your sales page should make it clear that the version that comes with the Media Suite is scaled-down and not the full version. Otherwise, it is misleading, and could, I believe, get the company in hot water with the FTC.

I purchased the Suite thinking it included the full version.

The link you provided goes to a FAQ page, and as I mentioned in my original post, there doesn't seem to be any way to actually CONTACT customer support. There's a place to contact TECHNICAL support, but not CUSTOMER support.

And the link you provided for version differences opens to a post on color boards. There is a post later on the page about version differences, but none of them list the Media Suite, which is, I assume, a retail version.

Actually, after reading many threads here on the forum, I got the feeling that the trial version may not have all features, so I went ahead and opened the box and installed the Suite. After this, the camcorder files opened fine.

I've accessed the support ticket page a couple of times, and no-where is there a place to SUBMIT a ticket.

Hi Alan,
Use "Contact Technical Support" Depending on how you fill in the proforma it presents you with - you will get pointed to the right place - BUT make sure you have your licence number.

Having said the above I am finding it impossible to get responses from either Tech Support OR Customer support. I get acknowledgements of my submissions but no resolution responses - sad really.
