I want to create a video which incorporates multiple video clips of differenct formats (flv, mp4, mp3, mpg, mpi, avi...) and photos and text. I want to have myself describing maps, pictures, etc possibly in a small window on the screen. This is a genalogy story which should stretch to about 1/2 hour before putting everyone asleep.

What software you you recommend to create this video and what eventual output format would be best?

Thanks in advance

PowerDirector Ultimate is far and away the best value out there. It comes fully loaded and with lots of great content.

It's definitely the version and software you want to buy for your project.
