We wanted to update you on the status of the new forum (which is scheduled to be released in just over month), and provide you with some more details:
- The new forum will be through Canny, which will allow for more direct feedback on feature requests, bug reports, board discussions, while providing better search capabilities.
- The new forum will initially have four “boards”. One for company announcements, one each for PowerDirector and PhotoDirector, and a fourth board for all “Other Products”.
- Users can sign in to the new forum with their existing CyberLink accounts, but will need to agree to CyberLink’s Privacy Policy and to send their basic user information (user name, e-mail address, etc.) to Canny the first time they sign in.
- To adhere to data protection policies, users will also be asked to consent to the transfer of all their created topics from the old forum to the new Canny forum. If users decline, or do not sign up for the new forum, unfortunately those topic threads cannot be transferred.
- If users choose to transfer their old data, then the topics and any image attachments will be transferred to the related forum (PowerDirector/PhotoDirector/Other Products) in time. However, since Canny only accepts image attachments, any video, .txt, or other non-image attachments will unfortunately not be transferred.
- In topic threads that include post replies from users who have not signed up or transferred their data to Canny, those posts will be marked as by “Anonymous”.
- As indicated in the current announcement notice, the old forum will close and become read only once the new forum is launched. The old forum will be kept as a resource for an undetermined period of time.
We encourage you to sign up and transfer your created topics to the new forum once it is released, so we can all continue to contribute and build our forum community on Canny.
If you have any specific questions about the new forum, or the current forum, you can contact CyberLink Customer Service, or send us a PM and we will do our best to answer.
Regards,
Admin
