Can't capture 1280x720 720p, from USB Microsoft Lifecam Cinema HD 720p

Hello all, this is my first post here at Cyberlink.

I cannot seem to get video to capture @ 720p (1280x720), @ 16:9,
or any widescreen capture as far as that goes.
my capture screen still has the black sides.
I have selected 16:9 from drop down menu, and in the settings properties.
change the resolution there as well..

The HD icon is faded out so I cannot click on that source.
my specs are as follows.

Power Director 7 OEM HP,
- Windows 7 64-bit
- Microsoft USB Lifecam HD 720p
- HP dv6-2155 - Core i3
