Casting to Roku Streambar

I have a Roku streambar connected to my samsung tv and I've been trying to cast to the roku but get a warning that it can't cast to an apple tv? I'm not using an apple tv.
in the end I opened the apple tv app on the roku then tried to cast with a result of the powerdvd cast app opening on my roku and the video playing but not smoothly, it would play for a few seconds then buffer then play a bit more.
anybody else having trouble.

Not sure if you have the casting channel installed on Roku, i.e. "PowerDVD Casting channel":
