Preview frame only showing the timeline - not displaying the project clips

Hi

I have used PD365 for a couple of years on my Dell laptop. No issues. I love Power Director.

But, I have just got a new laptop. HP Envy cr0006. Brand new, 32GB RAM, loads of storage. Windows 11. I was expectig that PD365 would be even better on a more powerful new laptop.

From the Cyberlink members zone I installed my PD365 subscription onto my new laptop.

However I now have one big issue. The preview pane will only show the actual timeline. Any clips sitting in the top left area of the screen will not display on the preview pane on the right. I click on them and the preview pane does not change. I press play, and the timer starts moving along, but the preview pane remains static on whatever point I have the actual project timeline at.

I can gright-click on individual clips and successfully use the pre-cut tool, create multi-trim clips, edit alias on each one. But then when I want to watch them back before dropping them onto the timeline, the preview pane will not show them.

I have adjusted the screen resolution down from 4k to 1280/1084 but this doesn't work. I have tried it both with and without shadow file generation. Both ways and the problem is still there.

Any suggestions?

Any chance you don't have the Library preview active. View>Show Library Preview Window?

A screenshot/screen capture of the issue would be helpful for members to offer suggestions.

Hi

The Library preview is definitely active, and even if it's showing as an extra pane, it will be empty.. although it will update the title to the selected clip from the left side of the screen.

Also, if I minimise Power Director, then the preview pane doesn't fill.. I can see whatever screen I had open behind it (as attached)

**** I mean if I minimise PD, then bring it back up.. the preview pane remains empty and shows whatever is on my desktop underneath.

Thanks for the DxDiag details. I suggest you visit the HP support site for your laptop and install both the new BIOS and Intel Iris graphics driver that have been recently released, as your installed versions are over a year old.

You might as well use the Detect My Drivers tool to identify and automatically install all available updates.

Once that's done, you may even want to uninstall PD365 and then reinstall it so that it "sees" your fully updated machine. You won't lose any projects by doing that.
