Product Key and Missing Files

I purchased and installed PowerDirector on July 7 and began using it. It was an online purchase.

Today, I wanted to continue working on a file. Two things happened:

  1. I was challenged for the Product Key. I have an email with my purchase invoice, but it does not have a Product Key. Where can I find this?
  2. I cannot find any *.pds files on my computer. Was the product in some kind of weird trial mode that deleted my file?

I paid for the product and have a receipt.

If you purchased the lifetime license for PD21 (as opposed to a subscription for PD365), you can access all your product keys from your CL account's Plans & Products' page.

PD shouldn't ever delete any project (.PDS) files, but there have been reports of that happening under specific circumstances. Take a look at this discussion, and make sure you're saving the files to a normal folder on a non-removable drive.

You should also be able to open up the last 10 projects from the File | Open Recent Projects... menu

Don't believe that's true. Just because you may be purchased from CL, you still have to register the product during install or later which is user optional. Once registered, it will then appear in your CL account.
