PowerDirector 19 v PowerDirector 365

I have used PowerDirector for a few years on my rack-mount studio computer. I recently purchased it again and installed it on my laptop.

I always used PD in full mode to add pictures to a soundtrack. I am confused now. I don't know if I am supposed to open PowerDirector 19 or PowerDirector 365. What's the difference?

Thank you.

There are several differences, the most significant of which is that any projects created in PD365 cannot be opened by PD19, although the opposite is possible. Basically, if you want to edit the same project on two different computers, they will both have to have the same major version of PD installed.

The other main difference is that PD19 has a lifetime license while PD365 is a subscription product. PD21 is the equivalent lifetime version, although Cyberlink is not providing the same amount of updates or new features as PD365 gets.

For your basic editing needs, either version would work.

Thank you. The purchasing process was very confusing and the installation process put several applications that mkay or may not be activated on my laptop. I would have preferred a lifetime license, but it appears I bought 365. That is not good since now I can't edit files on my studio machine.

I wish the options had been more clear.

I appreciate your help.

I think you should contact customer service and explain your situation. I imagine you could cancel the subscription and instead purchase PD21. You can reach them from this webpage.
