Help transferring files from one computer to another via Cloud

Hi all,

Please forgive me for not knowing technical terminology very well.

My partner and I are trying to transfer files between our computers. We don't live near each other, so we use a shared Google Drive.

I recorded an audio recording into Audio Director 365 and saved the file to my desktop. I then uploaded it to Drive. When my partner tried to download it, it said that essential components were missing.

We then tried using the uploader within 365 itself. We encountered the same problem.

Does anyone have a seamless, hopefully idiot-proof way to transfer files between computers? I'm basically the creative who designs the content, but I don't know how to use the program to edit it. That's his job, but we're having one heck of a time. Any help or advice appreciated. Thank you!

As long as you're both running the same version of PD, the best way to do this is to use File | Pack Project Materials... and select a folder on Google Drive.

Doing that will ensure that all media clips used in the project are always accessible whenever one of you opens the project.

As a "belt and braces" principle, it would also be advisable to keep both copies of PDR as identical as possible. Such things as custom titles, or additional fonts for example, might be used on a project on one system and, if they do not exist on the other, there may be an unexpected result which may take some troubleshooting and correction!!
