Power Director Ultimate (not subscription) vs. Power Director 365

Since I cannot test the stand alone Ultimate on a trial, I was advised to test out the PD Essential 365 version and so I did.

I like what I see but before purchasing PD Ultimate (not subscription based) I want to know if I'm getting all of the same transitions as I am seeing in the subscription version. Does that make sense? How does Essential compare to Ultimate?

I don't use it enough for the monthly subscription to make sense. I just want to upgrade from PD 17.

Thoughts? Suggestions?

Thank you!

Thank you for your prompt reply, however, I visited that page earlier prior to my post. Unfortunately, it doesn't address any comparisons between the two in terms of the transitions.

You may want to contact someone at Cyberlink to see those specific details. You can reach them from their contact page, and choose Contact Us | Account, Purchase & Subscription Issues

Use that comparison page link that optodata supplied and click on the Content button on top of the page to see the transitions available: https://www.cyberlink.com/products/add-ons/powerdirector/recommended_en_US.html .

There are 10 pages of this. Each set is available for both, like $50 for PD21 and free for PD365 subscribers. None of them are included in PD365. You must download them if you want them like this one: https://www.cyberlink.com/products/add-ons/snow-transitions_en_US.html?productName=powerdirector&catName1=recommended&catName2=all . It cost $50 and is free for PD365 to download it.

There are possibly about 100 new transitions available for the PD21 users for $500. The same for PD365 users is $0 or free.

FWIW, if you look at the transition templates line in this comparison, https://www.cyberlink.com/support/faq-content.do?id=27249 about 8 rows up from the bottom, you'll see CL states all products have 192. The subscription offers ability to download additional, but all products share the same base 192 transitions per CL.

Maybe the better question is what are you looking for that PD17 does not offer?

Jeff
