Smart Fit vs HQ-Best Quality

Judging by the visible area recorded on the burnt DVD, only about half the DVD is used even when the PowerDirector 12 software indicates the DVD should be full according to the 4.X GB figure given in the data bar in the bottom lower left status bar.

There is no difference in the percent of the DVD recording area visibly burnt by either Smart Fit or HQ-Best Quality and that percentage is never over 50%.

I would think that more of the DVD would be used for HQ.

What is the time-length of your test video(s)?
A DVD will hold about 60 minutes of 720x480 8mbps mpeg2 video.
If you have over 60-ish minutes, say as an example 75 minutes of video, the mbps will be reduced to fit the additional time-length of the video.
