Hi guys,

Just started using the Powerdirector 365 product.

1. What kind of format to use for Youtube videos that gets me the highest quality with a reasonable amount of drive space being used?

2. Should I use HEVC H.265 or the AVC H.265 format?

3. What about file extension type? I assume MP4 is the standard?

4. Should I always produce the videos in 4k? 30p or 60p? Is there a huge difference? Is 1080p good enough to give good quality without making huge video files?

Thanks for your time guys!

  1. Best to at least match the highest quality of source video you have on your timeline (resolution, bitrate, fps). PD21 "Profile Analyzer" in the "Produce" module will give you a starting point.
  2. Best to match your source video, you can use MediaInfo online https://mediaarea.net/MediaInfoOnline to get details or "View Properties" in PD21
  3. MP4
  4. Same as #1. YouTube will always encode your uploaded clip anyhow.

YouTube's guidance, https://support.google.com/youtube/answer/1722171 expand every arrow for details on each topic.
