Rendering Preview - slowing things down

Hello,

Not sure if I hit a toggle or something but everytime I try to view a clip on my time line I get a 'rendering preview' bar and my systems hangs for a while till it gets to 100%

I am not doing a final render. Just viewing on the timeline.

This started happening about a month or two ago.

Reduce preview resolution.

Hi,

Also look at Preferences>General>Render a preview of the timeline in UHD preview quality.

Check or uncheck as required.
