Cyberlink as a large reputable company should create its own FORUM platform and not use a free forum like (JForum) online system. What happened with the old nice search engine?.

We have waiting weeks specting something nice and powerfull. Instead, the deside to use the simple Google search engine. Its not that Google search is bad, but specifically its not looking for results inside Cyberlink forum.

Just make a test... look for any title post that you have create and the new search engine will not show the correct result. Ex. type But hummmm..... (like this post). Not good, not what we all expect from Cyberlink. Im a big defender of Cyberlink products.. but this...??? whooow.. doesnt search anithing..

Cyberlink programers, create your own forum plataform, please......

I agree with Nicolas, the new search engine leaves a lot to be desired, lets face it, it's not very good.

Robert,
You show your British origins - that was a bit of an understatement . Personally I compare the new search facility to the world's biggest pile of fecal matter.

Cheers

Adrian,

If I had expressed my true feelings as to the heap of garbage the new facility is, Dafydd would have had no option but to delete it.
So I took the British way out, stiff upper lip and all that.

Robert,
Yes, I felt a little more able to express my views verbally to Dafydd last night, it was slightly cathartic - not in the medical sense "In medicine, a cathartic is a substance which accelerates defecation" - but in a psychological sense "A purifying or figurative cleansing of the emotions"

Cheers
Adrian

Neil,
Don't waste too much of your life searching for the search button, it's not worth it.

Hi everyone,
I've no intention of making excuses here for the search facility or lack of one which works.

I have complained, to whom it matters.

If any of you feel inclined to write an email to me, please do so. I will forward all of them directly to CyberLink. I want your feedback, your reaction and comments.

I'm not happy at the situation. I have asked for the forum update to be reversed back to the previous forum script.

I would welcome input by email.

This seems to be the most logical step that Cyberlink could make at this point.
This update to the same JForum 2.1.8 forum engine as is used for the DZ Forum (one that has never functioned properly for 2 years now), has been a disaster.
Why would you swap out a forum engine that did work, with one that never has?
And this new Search feature substitute, well, it's basically useless compared to the search feature what we did have.

If Cyberlink has just a modicum of loyalty to this membership and user base, then it will not allow this sub par reversal to a lesser forum engine stand.

Just did a quick search. The only problem I see is that the results sort by day, then month, so a post on June 15 is after, for example, one on May 30. That's close enough that I can find what I need. I guess I can read the date on the post and find the latest answers. __________________________________
