I really like Powerdirector 7, but have had a few serious problems with it.

One is--if the original footage is Hi-def (in this case 1280-720-AVCHD Lite from Pentax ZS3), and one wants to render to a normal DVD.

I first render to an mpeg-2 DVD-compatible file, using your default settngs for that purpose.

On playing that .mpg file though, it does not play smoothly, sometimes stutters, etc.

What is going on with the rendering to MPEG-2?

I am also having this problem. It's driving mad. I tried every video format thinking it was my source file, which I was using VOB. files. That was not the case. Every video I put in, then rendered to mpeg-2, still same result when played back.

This sounds like a codec issue or the player you are using. I use Splash Lite to play videos. Another option is Media Player Classic Home Cinema with ffdshow installed. Q9300 2.5 GHz

Nvidia 9800 GT
