Can't Import .MOV clips

I have many .MOV clips from my photo camera. PowerDirector V6 does not seem to be able to import these clips. Am I missing something? Is there a work-around?
I am using Windows XP SP3.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

My Video Camera has the smae format (JVC unit), I cheat and using dos do a rename to .MOV extension -
I.E rename *.mov *.mpg
I have imported these files intoPD8 with no issues, and have used tem in other programs as well.
