What kind of DVD media are you using? Have you tried another DVD player?

DVD + R. If I open the dvd up using explore i see the vob files in video_ts files. I am trying to play it on Phillips home theater system 3565SD. I just purchased it in December 2008

That's odd. I've never had any issues playing DVDs using the DVDHQ profile. Have you tried another project just to check if this is an isolate incident? Q9300 2.5 GHz
