I would like to upgrade to PD8, is it worth bying software via retail or going through Cyberlink site for a download and is it any different to V7

Hi Debra

You can either download or depending which country you are from purchase the retail boxed version - either way there's no difference.

As for the differences between PD7 & PD8 (I've had them all from PD3.5,) please click on the link below:

I found PD8 to be worth the $60 USD, but the big problem for me was in trying to uninstall PD7. It is not eady and requires many steps. I use many different programs and 99% are just a simple "uninstall"

Uninstalling PowerDirector easily, appears to be governed by the computer in which it is installed, maybe a conflict of other program .dll's which are installed.
Many users seem to face a mountain of issues to uninstall the program, ranging from missing files, InstallShield problems, registry etc.
Yet most users have no issues at all, just uninstall via add/remove programs then reinstall the newer version, I have only ever needed to uninstall via add/remove then reinstalled, but my computer is only basically used for video editing, I do not have a multitude of programs, only those necessary for editing.
