PowerDVD 19 was released on April 16, 2019. Version 20 cannot be very far away. Cyberlink released annually. Keep an eye out in the next few weeks...

Sorry!, I'm still on Power2Go 11. Running on Windows 7. My current Power2Go is up to date for ver 11. Appreciate any advices. Will the problem be solved if I upgrade to ver 13?
YES. I just upgraded to v13 and Youtube works again. Seems that only v12 and v13 got the fix for downloading Youtube videos.

I am having the same problem.
I have reinstalled the software with no help to solve the problem.
I am also logged into my Administrative account.
Currently in the process of receiving more info from tech support.
Attempting to play 4K Ultra HD blurays.
Using Windows 10 with latest updates for windows and PowerDVD 18.
Anyone with a solution? Glad it is not just me!
Wow! I actually logged in to purchase the upgrade from 18 to 19, then read this. Think I will pass for now. Doesn't sound good, at all...
Thank You Both

Hello bobmitch,
You have a far superior PC setup than I'm using here, but I've not experienced any of "the mess" you've had. PhD functions smootly here, as it should for you. I often have monitoring software running (CAM), but without any ill-effects.
Though I'm not technically knowledgeable enough to suggest what might be the cause, I'd fairly confidently suggest that it's related to your installation/setup.
Is PhD8 installed in the default location, which would be your Samsung SSD C
Is there any other information you could provide to help resolve the problem?
PIX
Yes it was installed in the default directory of the SSD, which is my C: drive. I have another copy running on my MSI laptop and have no issues with it at all. Samsung SSD is the main C drive there as well. I am suspecting MSI Afterburner might be the culprit...but I have never ran a video card in the past 10 years without the program. It helps keep temps down by controlling the fan speeds of my Video card. In addition, it does have a display that is enabled in 3D mode that gives me the GPU speed, temp and fan speed at all times. On the laptop, I don't run Afterburner until I need it. Less hyper of a GPU there.

Installed it and I assume that because of MSI Afterburner 4.3, the software locks up. Even when Afterburner isn't running, the program loads slowly and you can't do anything within it for a few minutes. Then it becomes "more" responsive. Still can't load photos, or much else. If I click to see what version of the program I have (build 2031), it takes a few minutes for even that screen to load. Here are my system specs:
Asus X99-A with Intel i7 5820K
32 GB of DDR4-2666 in quad channel
EVGA GTX 1080 ACX 3.0 with Nvidia drivers 375.70
Samsung 512 GB 840 Pro SSD C:
It is unfortunate that the program locks up the way it does. The MSI RTSS (monitors GPU speeds and fan control). I cannot use the program to do anything without locking up. Tried to load some photos, and nothing...but a black box in the middle of the screen.

Hi Guys...
I downloaded the 2229 beta patch and installed. Fixed my issue. If you haven't tried it...I recommend it.
|
|
I wish they would post the fix with instructions...so we can all benefit from it! Obviously there is something we can all try....
|
|
Thanks for the heads up. Odd thing...when I updated to the build, I get a warning that the version of PowerDirector that I have is not the version that should be upgraded...YET...when I check the build number on the program, it us updated to build 2123. What's with that?
|
|
What is odd...I import other folders full of photos and it doesn't happen. Same phone took the photos and video. Then in others, it might squash one or two photos....there is no rhyme or reason for this. Very confusing.
|
|
Slats,
What I find odd about this is that on mine, it picks on the same photos each and every time. I shot over 300 photos on my phone last week and it is the same 5 that are squashed. I can rotate them 90 degrees right and it fixes them...then, as you did, I delete the squashed ones and import into the project. I did the same with v12 and that did NOT happen. Something is odd about this.

The photo was taken off my LG G2 phone. If you right click the file, amd choose properties, you will see all the info.
|
|
Here You go. Capture 1 is the bloated photo. Capture 2 is the file, the way it should look...after I rotated it 90 degrees...very odd indeed...Odd thing is that the photos import properly into v12, which I installed on my laptop, to see if it was the photos or v13...

I was wondering the same...then I started watching the tutorial videos. Check it out...it is in here:

It doesn't happen with all my photos...just a few odd ones in the middle of the presentation. I put together a mixed Blu Ray with both photos and mp4 movies. In the middle, I had a few photos that were taken Vertically. The resolution on ALL my photos is 2340 x 4160. When I did the same setup using v12, this did not happen. The photos look bloated. They import properly as far as orientation, but they make everything in the photo look FAT! I am able to fix, before adding to the timeline, by simply choosing to rotate 90 degrees to the right....then the photos look normal. What is happening with v13????
Thanks

So if I purchased it retail, I am out of luck, is that correct?
|
|
If I purchased PowerDirector 12 Ultimate and 13 gets released...is it still 30 days from purchase to obtain the newer version?
Thanks
|
|
Include me on that thought! Great Job!
|
|
I tried reinstalling it with no luck. It brings up an error report screen, so I filled it out and sent to Cyberlink. I remember this problem when Windows 8 came out...PowerDVD12 needed an update almost immediately. One can hope that someone sees this

When I try to open manually or insert a Blu Ray, the program crashes on startup. Back to Win 8 for me. MS is really blowing it. 8 was a failure in comparison to 7 and 8.1 is worse yet
