Are enhancements keyframeable?

Foe example, if I would like a clip's saturation to change over the clip's duration, is there a way to do this?

The way to do this with other FX (i.e keyframes) doesn't seem to be available with the Saturation controls under the Color Adjustment enhancement.

I'd appreciate any advice.

Hi lingyai,

The Enhancements are only applied to individual clips or the entire TimeLine.

Although you could place the Color Balance effect on the Effect Track and click on Modify. As you can see you can add keyframes and you may be able to obtain your desired outcome.

Hope that helps!

Thanks Kevin for your answer. The thing is, Changing the color balance is not the same as changing saturation. I guess I was hoping that basic darkroom FX (Saturation, Hue, Contrast etc) would exist as track specific FX, not merely as (non-keyframeable) Movie FX. Are they actually there as clip FX, only I'm missing them? It seems like a pretty basic omission.

Hi again lingyai,

I knew that color balance wasn't going to be exactly what you were looking for, but I thought it might be worth a try to suggest it as a possible replacement.

I wasn't sure exactly what you were asking here....it's been a long day for me. Sorry that I might be a bit slow in comprehension skills. You can apply Saturation, Hue and Contrast by using the FIX/ENHANCE button directly above the Timeline.

Select the clip you want to adjust...select FIX/Enhance.....make your adjustment and the "X" or close the window. If you want to apply your adjustment to the ENTIRE TIMELINE, then select APPLY TO ALL before closing the window.

Did that make any sense to you? I think I need another glass of wine!! I hope I am clearing things up for you!!

Regards,

Kevin

Thanks again Kevin. Thing is, I've figured out how to use those FX; what I'm still trying to figure out is whether they are keyframeable. I am beginning to suspect they are not.

Cheers,

Ken

Hi lingyai,

If you are willing to do a little pre-production, here's a link to a workaround that might work for you.

Mmm... very nice indeed -- not only the workaround (pretty cool as it could be applied to any of those fix / enchance FX) but the video -- very clear, to the point, and with nice music too.

So tell me ... how'd you get that guy to float so convincingly? ;

Thanks a lot!
