Hello:

I just installed the newest version Powerdirector 365, I began to do a simple video with a narration from the recording feature, only to find no matter which microphone device I use, there is a tremendous amount of background static, it is not from my environment, the area is very quiet. Any suggestions?

Hi,

Is this a new install of PDR365 - by that I mean have you successfully used any previous version of PDR on your system - or is this the first time PDR has been used?

Cheers

The first thing I would check, to to be sure your microphone connection is noise free. Any bad connection or even loose parts on the microphone can cause static. Carl312: Windows 10 64-bit 8 GB RAM,AMD Phenom II X4 965 3.4 GHz,ATI Radeon HD 5770 1GB,240GB SSD,two 1TB HDs.

Never get static on mine if a plugged in microphone is selected. One can get digital noise if there is a bad connection as Carl312 suggested.

You can check in win 10 settings/System/Sound/Input/ Choose an installed microphone. Test your microphone. Go to Manage sound devices to boost the volume above the noise level if needed.
