Hello again!

My third time through the program and still trying to work the kinks out.

I get the following error messages:

1. Menu memory may exceed 1 Gig (now how do I know this!?!)

or

2. Number of chapters may exceed limit

Now why would there be any limits on this program..unless the BD discs themselves have limits

Jeff,

I'm not positive for BD, I have not had the need to figure it out. How many do you have?

I had to dig into the DVD specs many yrs ago and the spec says 99 VTS's, so 99 titles, and with each title containing 99 chapters with a maximum of 99 titles per disc. There is also a 1GB size limit for VTS.

Might be PD is checking the DVD spec limits for BD? One would think BD specs are more relaxed than DVD but that's only a guess.

I only have 24 chapter thumbnails

Not sure what VTS means

I really haven't added anything fancy to the menu. I am using one of the original templates.

Please help. I really wanted to give this to the client before leaving on a trip tomorrow.

Jeff,

VTS (Video Title Sets) it's how the DVD spec defines titles.

Try a test, copy your pds file to new name so you don't mess up your original.
a) untick the "Enable video thumbnail", burn to a folder only and see if that works
b) if item (a) works, tick the "Enable video thumbnail" and set the duration small, maybe half or a fourth of what you currently have and burn to a folder and see if that works.

Sounds like what you need is a "real" authoring program.

By "burning to a folder", do you mean burning a folder and its contents onto a BD..or a folder on the computer's hard drive?

Please please recommend a "real" authoring software.

woah it seems to be working

All I did was set the thumbnail duration from 60 to 15 sec and kept the Video Thumbnail checked

There is also a unchecked box labeled Auto timeout. What is that?

I believe that's exactly what I told you to do with items (a) and (b) in my post. Glad it's working for you. Reducing the time would reduce the size of the menu memory requirement so you must have been violating the 1GB check by PD7. Again, I'm not positive this is a valid check for BD, I'd really doubt it. Most likely a PD7 "feature" carried over from DVD authoring, just a wild guess.

Auto timeout starts to play the first chapter rather than just sit on the menu pages.
